Paulo Coelho

I finally decided to give a chance to the Brazilian author Paulo Coelho, who, supposedly, is the most widely-read living authors in the world. I always heard mixed reviews from his works, but I should have paid more attention to the ones from some of my friends who told me I would not like him. I have only read thirty pages of Manuscript found in Accra and one question came to my mind right after page 6 or 7:

HOW THE FUCK CAN ANYBODY READ THIS PEACE OF CHEAP CRAPPY PHILOSOPHY AND ENJOY IT?

I don't like to curse when I write, but I was so pissed I wasted my time on this, I had to let my anger out somehow. I don't even want to try The Alchemist, his most acclaimed novel, because I'm sure I will loose hope in humanity.

True Blood: In the evening, an excellent song to end the episode!

I'm glad that season six of True Blood is turning to be what the series used to be before season five: a truly entertaining goofy show. Also, tonight the show ended with a Led Zeppelin tune! So, here is the music for those interested in listening to the whole song! Enjoy!

Betis - Sevilla

The "eternally inferior" team of the city of Seville faces tomorrow the most grandiose team of southern Spain in this order. Last time they played Sevilla FC won 5-1. Could we repeat the feat?

Al-assad shot?

I just found a blogger that post this about the rumors of the  Syrian president being shot or at least seriously wounded by one of his bodyguards. MidnightWatcher posted this:

"By Amos Lerah, JSS News (Translation) – “According to reports in the Arab press (and then republished in the Israeli press ), information that journalists say they have ‘verified’ the Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad was killed this morning by one of his bodyguards. An important safety device has been set up at the hospital in Damascus.
The assassin Boucher Damascus would be his bodyguard Iran, a military officer named Mehdi Jakoby. He was in charge of presidential security and was ‘offered’ by Tehran’s ally Syria.
According to various sources, there are reports of heavy fighting in any armed Damascus. The roads leading to the hospital would be closed.
Syrian TV premises have been abandoned.
If this information had to be officially confirmed, it would be a victory for the Islamists who are fighting for the seizure of power in Syria. No one really knows what will happen tomorrow if Assad is actually dead. Is that Iran will take a step back? Russia will she see red at the loss of his best friend? What about China? And the United States who still pledged this week to put a term “in the coming days,” the regime in Damascus, will they be strong enough to transmit the power to Syrian honest?” Source – JSS News."

Most likely it is just a rumor, because I haven't been able to find too much information about it, and definitely nothing that confirms the news, but who knows?

Any Sevilla FC fans in St.Louis?

It may be a little late to publish this just one day before the Copa del Rey semifinals, but it would be fun to get together with more "sevillistas" to see how the best team in Andalucia gets to the finals... again!

Boehner overdid it in the tanning salon!

Did you notice that Boehner looked darker than Obama in tonight's State of the Union? Did he forget to set a timer in his tanning session?

Sevilla - Betis. Historic 5-1 to humiliate the white and green squad!

You can watch the highlights of this historic game in this video by Jesús-Creations. This could have been the most embarrassing derby for the other team of the Andalusian city if any of the multiple occasions in the first half would have ended in goal.
Enjoy!

Obama is white!

To celebrate election day, what better than doing it with a smile in your face. Chris Rock tells a shocking "truth" about Obama on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Our president is white!

Priceless!

I missed the celebration...

...of my own blog 10,000 visitor! Whoever he or she may be, thanks for reading my "training spot", as I used to call it. It is estrange how so many people has someway or another come to read something that you have written without an intended audience. It is a completely different feeling from knowing how many people have read one of your articles because you are writing for that specific group interested in the topic you are writing about, and with whom you are trying to establish a dialectics. In this blog, the last part, at least in my case, is missing in my intention. I would love it, if I have managed to create some conversation, don't get me wrong, but I believe a blog like this can only answer to some hidden narcissist agenda of pretending that somebody in the cyberspace is going to care even though I pretend not to.
Oh well...

Dexter. New season.

Season 7 from our favorite serial killer is days away from opening. September 30 is the chosen day. For those of you who have not had the chance of seeing the 2 minutes teaser for the next season. Here you are. Enjoy!

Just one thing! There is a possible spoiler (less than a second, a few photograms perhaps), but to be honest I doubt this "thing" is going to happen for real.

SEVILLA FC 1 - REAL MADRID 0

Very early the German midfielder Piotr Trochoswki scored the first and only goal of the game, finishing a strategy play practiced during the week at Seville's "Ciudad Deportiva". Sixty eight seconds, the fastest goal this year in La Liga. What followed was more than ninety minutes of serious work from the Sevillian squad or, depending on how you look at it, Madrilian impotence.
Cristiano's team was impregnated with the Portuguese star's "sadness". It never gave the impression that it could  overcome Michel's team. Sevilla's coach sure  knows the team whose shirt defended for so long, and today he proved himself to be able to make Sevilla FC a serious candidate to fight for the Champions League again.

What teams will play the Eurocup final?

Spain is in. What is your guess for the second team? Italy or Germany? Germany is the safe bet, but nobody gave a ice cube chance in hell for the azzurri at the beginning of the tournament and they got to the semifinals...

What if Italy does not win today?

After a long vacation break, I'm back. The Eurocup 2012 is on, and today, everybody seems to be worry about a potential pact between Spain and Croatia (2-2) that will qualify both teams, and leave Italy out of the quarter final. Ireland is one of the weakest teams of the tournament, but the fact that they are in the Eurocup is a big enough reason not to forget that the Irish can still beat Italy. For some reason, everybody take for granted an Italian victory... we'll see!

Protests against (Real Madrid and Barcelona) favoritisms in La Liga

This video is in Spanish, but if you are a soccer fan and want to see what's going on in La Liga, and why Real Madrid and Barcelona are always ahead of the rest of the teams, you should check out the following video: Tennis Balls protests in Sevilla-Levante's game.

This game was delayed half an hour just because Mourinho and Guardiola had a press conference  after the game! Sevilla and Levante had to start the game at 10:30 at night on a Sunday. Therefore, the fans who had to get up early for work on Monday, kids, etc. most likely had to miss the game, all for the sake of a bunch of questions and answers that, except for the hardcore Real Madrid and Barcelona fans, nobody is interested in, or sure could listen to them at any other time. This is what makes Real Madrid and Barcelona ruin what is considered the "best soccer league in the world".

It would have been great...

...but Athletic played better than Sevilla FC. The game could have gone to either side, but in the 47th minute Fernando Llorente headed a perfect cross from the right to beat Palop. Winning would have meant to Sevilla FC getting  close enough to the Champions League positions, and coming from a four wins strike, the best team of southern Spain would have been unstoppable. Today, Sunday, Champions League positions are six points away, and Europa League one. Tomorrow, the Champions League may be farther away depending on what Malaga does against Racing. I like Malaga, but tomorrow I'm all for Racing!

The new 007's villain is Javier Bardem

Even thought I have seen most films on the James Bond's series, I have never been excited about any of their releases. Skyfall will be released in November, with Daniel Craig playing Bond for the third time. Together with him, we will enjoy Javier Bardem as the leading villain, and other actors and actresses of contrasted quality such as Ralph Fiennes, Judi Dent, or Albert Finney among others. Sam Mendes will direct, what makes him the first Oscar-winning director to ever make a James Bond's film. I will definitely go to see this one! Bardem is too good as a villain!

What was the song at the end of The Walking Dead "Nebraska" episode?

For those of you desperate to know, it was The Regulator by Clutch. If there is something that I really like about good shows like The Walking Dead is the great music they bring along! This time it was Clutch, a band that I used to love in the nineties, but that, for some reason, I lost track of them in last decade. They have evolved towards towards a more blues and hard rock style, leaving aside the heavy metal/hardcore punk flavor of their first albums.
Here is a link to The Regulator in case you want to hear the whole song:

And another one of a live performance:

Enjoy!
